ROSE CITY YARN CRAWL

An annual Portland experience, the Rose City Yarn Crawl is a four-day event for fiber enthusiasts (knitters, crocheters, spinners, and felters) to explore the many local yarn shops in and around Portland. 2024 will mark our 15th year of celebrating Portland as a yarn and fiber destination! 

Would you like to pick up one of the official Rose City Yarn Crawl totes? This year it was designed by local tattoo artist, Alice Kendall of Wonderland Tattoo. Preorder yours here! 

Our crawl theme this year is Flora and Fauna and our specific shop theme for Ritual Dyes this year is the Pacific Tree Frog and Mt Hood Strawberries! We have a lot of fun in-shop events planned for March 7th-10th, take a look and plan your visits accordingly:

Rihana Master of Just Add Plants creates fun, bright, beautiful macrame plant hangers and other plant accessories.

 

APT HERBALS

Location: In Store Only, Meet & Greet with Samantha 12 - 2 pm

Samantha offers the loveliest tinctures and salves – perfect for keeping your crafting hands cared for. Everything is mindfully made in small batches and sourced as locally as possible.

 

 

MAGPIE FIBERS

From all the way across the country, the Magpies will be sharing their dreamy, luxe bases and colorways to add a little glamor to our projects.

 

LANIVENDOLE

Lanivendole (which means "women who sell yarn") is a two woman operation based out of Genoa, Italy. Stefania and Giulia make their yarn following a short chain production, which is 100% traceable.

 

MORK MADE FIBER

We are so excited to welcome Nicole from Mork Made Fiber for a trunk show. Nicole will be bringing her mega fun fibers and yarn. What we love about Mork Made: each bundle of batt feels like art all its own!

 

REIKO CO

Ken is a Portland based artist who creates the most intricate and whimsical beaded jewelry. Each piece is handmade and slow woven, bead by bead. Granny squares, tarot related jewelry and more!

 

QING FIBRE ARTS

Qing Fibres is sending us a trunk show of their bright and beautiful yarn! We are excited to pick out our favorite skein from this unique collection. Qing is a London-based dye studio that focuses on joyful and unusual combinations- come and see!

 

FARMERS DAUGHTER FIBERS

Candice from Farmers Daughter Fibers has been a long time friend and collaborator of ours here at Ritual Dyes. Local crawlers will get an exclusive opportunity to shop what Candice has curated for us. 

 

OSHEN KNITS

Location: In Store Only, Meet & Greet with Vanessa & Dustin 10 am - 12 pm
In 2022, Vanessa and her husband, Dustin, wanted to create a space for them to be creative together, and so ōSHən Fibres and Howlin Bear Fibers were born. Vanessa draws inspiration from her deep love for the ocean and nature, while Dustin draws inspiration from his musical background. All of their hand-dyed yarn is created with intention in Astoria, Oregon.

 

  

BAD DOGS STUDIO

Location: In Store Only, Meet & Greet with Dan & Rachel 12 pm - 2 pm  
Bad Dog Studio is run by sister-brother duo Rachel and Dan. Originally from New Gloucester, Maine the two use a combination of traditional Shaker techniques and modern sensibilities in their beautiful, functional artwork. Rachel creates the ceramics and Dan the wooden wares. They are inspired by their very good very bad dogs.

 

SAN JUAN WOOLWORKS

Location: In Store Only, Meet & Greet with Sarah 2 - 4 pm
San Juan Woolworks creates yarns that are about as local to the PNW as it can get! Every label names the folks who care for the sheep, gently and skilfully shear them, and spin the raw fleece into yarn. Be sure to look out for heir botanically dyes skeins – each one is so unique!

  

MAKING TREASURES

Sophie Liu is a designer and maker based in Seattle, WA. She creates thoughtfully crafted goods for makers, including the amazing Maker’s Notebook. Each object from Making Treasures feels so wonderfully curated: designed by makers, for makers.

 

SUPERGLO FIBERS

Location: In Store Only,  Meet & Greet with Lindsay 11 am - 1 pm
Lindsay of Superglō Fibers is on the quest to create bright, bold, and neon fibers. And she did it: this is yarn that is truly for color lovers!! We’re so excited to have Lindsay in the shop with us – join us on Sunday to see all of the Superglō exclusive colors IRL. 

 

SOOTHEFOLK

Alex will be sending us some pre-embroidered pieces of Ritual Dyes merchandise (think Knitter's Backpacks, Moon Pouches and more!). For this special theme, Alex will be customizing some exciting Flora & Fauna goods.
