Meet Becca!

Tell us a bit about yourself:

BD: I grew up in southern Maine, to a long line of deep sea fishermen and union workers. Their grit and hard work has inspired me to become an organizer and an activist, but it has also inspired me as a knitter – I seek to create things that are beautiful and functional and that will last through the seasons.

I  have an undying love for late 90's/early aughts rom coms! 10 Things I Hate About You is the perfect film, imo. I am also very overconfident in my playlist curation. You can find my Ritual Dyes playlist here. 

 

RD: If you weren't knitting, what would you be doing- what are your other hobbies?

BD: When I am not knitting you can often find me at my local public library! I love reading and so often find my next great book by perusing the stacks. I am currently reading Love in the Big City by Sang Young Park – a queer, coming of age novel based in Seoul – it makes me want to dance and cry and fall in love.  

RD:Would you rather...

Knit with one base for the rest of your life?

OR

Knit with the same color forever?

BD: This is such a brutal question! Every knitter's worst nightmare! I would have to go with the same base for the rest of my life -- there is so much you can do with a squishy DK that has good stitch definition. Priestess, for example, is such a joy to knit with and I end up happy with the FO every time, no matter the project. 

RD: Salty or Sweet ?

BD: Why pit powerful women against each other? I love nothing more than a salted licorice or caramel or dark chocolate
