Designer Yarn Support
DESIGNER YARN SUPPORT PROGRAM
Thank you for your interest in choosing Ritual Dyes for your next design. We thrive on bringing the fiber community together through collaboration. If you’re looking for yarn support and promotion for your next qualifying design, we’ve set up a few guidelines to help you work with us. To see our gorgeous fiber offerings, take a look at what we have to offer by navigating to the Ritual Dyes brand in the menu bar. Take time to read through the following details to prepare for your design proposal.
Things to consider:
Have we worked together before?
If you’re familiar with our process, please continue to reach out as you have been. If you’re new, welcome! We look forward to getting to know you. Kindly provide your Ravelry design page, Instagram profile, and website if applicable.
What design are you proposing?
Share a sketch with a detailed description.
What’s your yarn wishlist?
Include the base, color names and quantity you’re looking for, as well as other brands you might be using with Ritual Dyes. We suggest taking time to peruse the base of your choice on Ravelry to see if another similar design exists in our yarn.
Your pattern should be tested and tech edited.
Being that Ritual Dyes is our own brand, we have a unique advantage in what we get to advertise. We carefully curate what we like to share with our community, and strive to ensure we are including top notch designs. Plus, your testers get a tasty discount code to keep the party going.
Your pattern should be size inclusive.
At Ritual Dyes, part of bringing the fiber community together means stressing the importance of size inclusivity. We require garments to include sizing up to a 60” bust, not including ease. This means your finished measurement should fit a bust up to 60” regardless of ease. If 5” of positive ease is intended, this means the finished measurement should be 65”.
When will your design be released?
In order to help cross promote your design, we need an estimation of when you plan on releasing your design. Giving at least 2-3 months notice will allow us to set the right gears in motion to plan so we can have a full supply of yarn to sell, add you to the newsletter, and promote your design on Instagram. We are a small team and it takes time to dye sweater quantities.
Can you provide high quality photos?
To support our online presence, we take pride in creating a cohesive aesthetic to characterize our brand. That means we would require well lit, clear, crisp photos (at least 1080p), multiple angles, and your design modeled on a person.
If you want your design to be cross promoted on our digital outlets, we emphasize photo quality. This ensures we get proper representation of our yarn, which, ultimately, allows us to sell our product.
Can you include us in your test phase?
We’d love to support your design by testing along and getting a sample in our shop. We’re great at keeping secrets and won’t share info until the day of your release.
So, you’ve made it this far, and you’re excited to get the yarn ball rolling! Go ahead and email your full proposal to heymartha@ritualdyes.com with the email title including "yarn support". The email should include your name along with as much information pertaining to the above information.
