Currently hiring : ASSISTANT DYE TECHNICIAN

We are looking for a part time assistant dye technician for our SE Portland studio!

Some fabric or wool dyeing experience preferred. 

A successful candidate must: 

• Be physically able to lift 50lbs, stand on your feet for long periods of time and have physical endurance to work in cooler and hotter temperatures.
• Work will include repetitive motions, lifting heavy, wet yarn repeatedly.
• Be thorough and able to pay attention to detail
• Be able to follow detailed directions
• Be dependable and reliable
• Work well with others
• Self motivated
• Be able to be around and use dye chemicals without reaction
• Be able to wear safety clothing, including gloves

Day-to-day duties include:

• Prepping yarn 
• Rinsing wet, heavy yarn
• Resetting the studio for the dyeing process
• Skeining and labeling yarn
• Taking directions
• Training to include dye assistant skills to dye repetitive colorways

Shifts are Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 12 - 15 hrs per week to start, $18p/hr
