RCYC Mystery KAL Meetup

RCYC Mystery KAL designer Lis Smith will be popping into the shop to knit and hang out this Sunday, February 8th! This year’s Mystery Knit is an engaging mosaic colorwork shawl inspired by the Greek myth of the Minotaur in celebration of this year’s Rose City Yarn Crawl theme - mythical creatures! Come to the shop to show off your WIPs, chat with other RCYC knitters, and get ready for crawl.

Lis Smith was first taught to knit by her grandmother when she was young but over the past decade her passion for knitting has grown from a skill into a vocation. A love of textiles and hand crafts beyond knitting inspires and informs her process. This includes sewing as well as growing and working with natural dyes from her home garden. While holding her coastal New England roots at heart, Lis now happily calls the Pacific Northwest her home, with a posse of mischievous cats by her side.

At the shop, Ritual Dyes 1117 SE Division Street PDX

House Nine Wellness x Ritual Dyes

Knitters, crocheters, and stitchers of all kinds know that, as much as we love our fiber arts, the closed, static positions and repetitive movements can create long-term discomfort.

Come join Marijean Rue, LMT and fiber artist, for an afternoon of stitch-specific stretches, ergonomic advice, and community fiber crafting! Talk and stretches followed by tea, chats, and of course, working on the project of your choice! You can even de-stash by bringing supplies you no longer need for potlatch exchange. So come learn self care techniques, have some delicious House Nine tea, and commune with fellow fiber enthusiasts!
