Spring Equinox

Spring Equinox

It is sure some weird times! I hope you are hanging in there and finding ways to take care of yourself. I know that for some of us being forced to slow down isn't as hard as it can be for others. As makers, we get to retreat into our craft and it can absolutely have the calming effect we so need right now. I am trying my best to support other small businesses by purchasing gift cards for future use or just by simply sharing their work with others.

I have been really excited to share the new Spring Equinox Offering with you! This ongoing project is a special, limited release planned for every season's change. For this spring, the offering includes this EXTRA Large Moon Pouch sewn & printed here in Portland, an exclusive hand-dyed yarn colorway with an accompanying skein of our Maven, US Rambouillet base in Spring. There are a limited number available, you can find them here. To best meet spring, we included a wool wash bar from Tuft Woolens in our custom scent of Ho Wood & Vetiver. This is my very favorite product to wash woolens in and to block my FO's!

Current Studio Happenings

With the health of ourselves and greater community in mind, the Ritual Dyes studio will not be open to visitors in the coming weeks. We are still working (with new precautions in place) and have implemented a few new ways to engage and stay connected and I hope that you will play along!

OPEN STUDIO hours at this time. Instead of welcoming visitors into our space, we will be available for live chat (there is a little chat button in the bottom right corner of the webshop), curbside pick up (you can still use the code PORTLANDPICKUP and just give us a call and we will run your order out to your car!). Feel free to give us a phone call as well if you want help picking out yarn for a project or if you have any questions.

Things I like  🖤

I think with things the way they are right now, it is best to find comfort where we can. Here are a few things that are keeping me feeling good these days:

Baking and cooking more at home. This new schedule allows time for bread to rise! This homemade artisan bread is a tasty and easy recipe to try.

If you need a new cast on (who doesn't?!) then join Andrea Mowry's March to May KAL! I am excited to be a part of this alongside some other amazing makers. It is a great way to stay connected .

Here are a few ways I would use the yarn in from the new Spring Equinox 2020 Offering (I'd use them together!):
Récamier Socks from Mara Catherine Bryner
The Harlow Hat from Andrea Mowry
Daybreak Shawlette from Stephen West
