Making some things ✄

Making some things ✄

A lot has happened in the past few weeks which has brought the Black Lives Matter movement further momentum. I have been quieter on social media lately, digging deeper and listening more. I stand in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and am dedicated to elevating and giving space to Black voices. As a small business and with the platform that has grown, we are committed to continuing our learning (and un-learning), finding ways to make our space more inclusive and actively engage in anti-racism work.

I have an ongoing list of resources that you can find in my highlights on Instagram including where to start, some organizations to donate to and other relevant links and information that I've personally found helpful.

Making things!

Small, quick things. This Pupu Scrunchie from Sari Nordlund was the perfect little cast-on. I enjoyed the pattern's simplicity and the fast results. This is a useful little accessory that has replaced a storebought version that I wore regularly. I knit my scrunchie in the new Forsythia colorway, using both Maven and Fae held together.

Tyler Trousers by Janet Celeste

Janet Celeste designed these cute lounge pants with deep pockets and I had the opportunity to test sew them. As a beginner sewist, I was hesitant to offer to test them but I am so glad I did! The pattern is well-written and I love a wide leg pant. The pattern is now available and you can purchase it here.

I used a viscose-linen but I would totally make them again with flannel, silk or just about any cozy fabric. Have you been sewing lately? I'd love to hear what you're making.
