Spring Cleaning And Socks And Clogs Lewk

Spring Cleaning And Socks And Clogs Lewk

I am definitely feeling that teensy shift in weather here in the PNW (it is a moment we are always on high alert for)! Very inspired lately to knit all the socks (to wear with clogs of course!). These Rose City Rollers are perfect to pair with clogs, they peek out just the right amount. I also think they are an amazing beginner sock pattern to work with, and that is why we have an upcoming studio class working off Mara Catherine Bryner's beautiful design. Megan Monroe will be leading this series; it is a great way to get started with socks or just a fun way to knit up a pair of Rose City Rollers for yourself this spring- register now!

We also just received our shipment of Laine's new sock book- 52 weeks of socks. This is a gorgeous product filled with designs from some of our very favorite designers. So much inspiration!!

Things I like  🖤

For this sock edition of the newsletter I wanted to include patterns that I am super inspired by and that are great matches for Ritual Dyes yarn:

Recamier from Mara Catherine Bryner would be so good with a Maven & Maiden combination of colors. Or if you wanted to scoop up one of the last of the Republic of Wool Collab- this would be a great way to use these! I love the shape of this lounge sock and Mara is an excellent pattern writer.

I just opened up preorders for Chromite on Fae which sold out so quick the first time around. It has this incredible, unexpected spun gold look to it and I think making a pair of Suska's Socks from Andrea Mowry would be the perfect use for it! (Hold it together with a fingering weight yarn). Or the dreamy Watashi No Yume Socks from Sachiko Burgen which is just knit in mohair.

If heading into spring for you means more getting outdoors and hiking, I'd love to suggest Okanogan from Andrea Rangel. I made mine with Maven & Fae held together but maybe you want to make yours with your Zodiac colorway as the main color along with your Rising & Moon for contrast colors- wouldn't those be powerful socks!?
