Vendor Highlight: LANIVENDOLE, A new yarn line from Italy!
If you are in the Pacific Northwest you've surely been enjoying the unfolding of fall. We have been having the most spectacular leaf changes going on and crisp, clear skies!

The shop is steadily receiving new products and we just brought in a line of yarn from Italy that we've been swooning over since we had Aleks Byrd visit the shop. While Aleks was here, she brought an Ajatu sample (affectionally referred to as the mustache sweater around here) in this dreamy, soft yarn with beautiful hues and the most delicate halo. We brought this new line, Lanivendole, into the shop starting with their A Chic Blend in 21 colors. This fingering weight base is a blend of Italian Abruzzese Wool, Mohair and Alpaca. They are blended and worsted spun in Biella, Italy and are skeined and hand-dyed at the Lanivendole studio.
SHOP LANIVENDOLE
Lanivendole (which means "women who sell yarn") is a two woman operation based out of Genoa, Italy. Stefania and Giulia (pictured above) make their yarn following a short chain production, which is 100% traceable. The Chic Blend that we have brought in is such a unique composition of fibers, you will love working with it!!

Here is what Lanivendole says about their product & process:

"Right from the start we strongly wanted to make a product that could represent us and our heritage, luckily we found a couple of mills in northern Italy that could work with our rather small amounts of fibres, and we keen to make an artisanal product, while in Italy most yarn mills produce textured and commercial yarn for fashion or big brands; we scaled to collaborate with just one of them and basically on our side we provide the fibres that we gather for breeders, we study with the keepers the composition of our blends of fibres and the most suitable type of yarn to spin."
We put kits together for the original colorways of the Ajatu sweater that Aleks designed as well as for our shop sample modeled here by Irene! You may also want to pick up the fringe tool, to make this mustache easier. You can find kits in the shop now.

If you'd like some help putting together your own palette of colors for this project (or any project you're dreaming of), stop in the store or book a virtual shopping appointment here!
