MARONA is our 3 ply DK-weight yarn in 100% Cormo Wool
Cormo wool is a long, stapled, high yielding fine-wool fleece. The wool ranges from 18-23 microns in diameter. Cormo has a high degree of fiber uniformity with a staple length ranging between 2 1/2 - 4 inches. The softness and luster create a soft and springy yarn.
The American Cormo sheep breed was first imported to the United States in 1976. Originally from Tasmania in Australia, they are a mix of Superfine Saxon Merino, Lincoln and Australian Merino.
The breed is medium-sized. They are mainly white in coloration and have open faces. Both rams and ewes are usually polled (no horns!)

Care Instructions
Colors have depth and vibrance, dyed with professional acid dyes. We do our best to make sure all of the excess color is rinsed out from our yarns, but some bleeding is still possible, especially during the first wash.
We recommend blocking your swatches firstin cool water to check for color-fastness. When using high contrasting colors, we recommend a steam block rather than wet blocking.
Despite all of our best efforts, red, blues and blacks are notorious for bleeding.
We try hard to capture the essence of each colorway, but please keep in mind that colors may vary from monitor to monitor.
