Delphi Ikat Indian Cotton from Merchant & Mills is a beautiful navy and rust Ikat weave.
Ikat is a resist dyeing technique where the threads used for weaving are dyed beforehand. The Ikat threads are bound in a pattern so that the threads covered by the binding 'resist' the dye, creating a design. The more binding done before weaving, the more complicated the pattern.
- 100% cotton
- 43 in / 110 cm wide.
- 3.6 oz / 125 gsm
- Country of origin; India.
- As Merchant & Mills Indian cloths are handmade, sometimes susceptible to irregularities in the weave or print, this is all part of their charm and are not classed as flaws.
- Sold in 1/2 yard increments (for example: if you want 1.5 yds of fabric order a quantity of 3 and you will receive one cut piece of 1.5 yds total)
This fabric is hand dyed. For the couple of washes, place the fabric in the washing machine drum at 30 or 40 degrees with a handful of table salt. This will fix the dye to prevent it from running.
Add coordinating thread from Gutermann (Sew-All Polyester, 100m/110yds)
**Please note that once cut, fabric is non-returnable. Listing is for 1/2 yard increment. Order the amount you want cut in one piece.**
