Since adopting her sweet girl, Purl, Briana has found herself irresistibly drawn to all things witchy black cat. These mittens started late one sleepless night last winter and the design idea was reignited by an enamel pin found in a little witchy shop in Leadville, Colorado—with a design strikingly similar to the one she'd drawn. Now, at last, Briana is excited to share them with us—her fellow earthy, cat-loving knitters.

If you’ve followed Briana for any length of time, you know that her beloved adventure cat, Purl, was always by her side. We’re deeply saddened to share that Briana recently lost Purl in a tragic accident.
To honor Purl’s memory, Briana will be donating $2 from every pattern sale to the Animal Friends Alliance in Fort Collins, Colorado—the organization that first brought Purl into her life. This donation reflects what Briana would typically offer as an introductory discount, matched dollar-for-dollar from her own proceeds.
In her grief, Briana hopes to celebrate the love and companionship that Purl embodied by helping more animals find their forever homes. Whether you’re a cat person or not, she invites you to take a moment today to hug your loved ones—furry or otherwise—and tell them you love them, in Purl’s memory.
