Nicole has been a lifelong crochet-ist who has written patterns and explores the art of ‘freeform crochet’ in her personal practice. She has designed one-of-a-kind apparel and has fulfilled customer orders from Amigurumi to attire. Between 2016 and 2021, Nicole attained her A.A. in Studio Art, her BFA in Craft, and an MFA in Applied Craft and Design from PNC of Art in Portland. Her creative studies have focused on fiber arts and she has incorporated her history with crochet into modern, textile sculptures that include techniques such as spinning, dyeing, weaving, felting, and more. Nicole attributes her passion for handcraft to learning crochet from her friends where they shared food and technique. This sparked her journey as a fiber artist, along with a desire to share the tradition of, and sustain the history of handwork.
