Don't let the complicated look of the brioche-stitch fool you — it's a lot easier than you think! Learn the basics of this versatile knitting technique under the friendly guidance of teacher Allison Ause. We will be knitting the Kodiak Cowl by The Blue Mouse to practice our basic brioche repeats and really cement this new skill. All you need are two contrasting colors of yarn, an open mind and a little time on a Saturday. 

Class Time

Sunday, January 15th from 10 am - 12 pm 

Materials (Not included)

• Kodiak Cowl pattern by The Blue Mouse
• US Size 6 (4.0 mm) circular needles (16”)
• 55 yards of DK weight yarn in a lighter color
• 55 yards of DK weight yarn in a darker color
• 1 stitch marker for tracking the beginning of round

Students must be comfortable knitting and purling.

Allison Ause is a lifelong knitter and former Marketing Coordinator and Pattern Support Specialist for Brooklyn Tweed. There is nothing she loves more than walking knitters across the threshold of overwhelm and into the land of excitement and accomplishment. Her warm demeanor welcomes new makers into the craft while her eye for technical detail ensures she always has another helpful tip to share. She's a lover of the wooliest wools, the most storied yarns and finding the perfect fit for each sweater project. When not knitting, you can find her reading, coding or tending her growing farm in Stardew Valley.

Classes require a minimum of 3 students. An emailed notification of cancellation will be sent 2 days before the class if the minimum is not met. In the case of shop cancellation, all registered students will be refunded the class fee. Any additional fees including materials and the shipping of materials are non-refundable. Student cancellations, missed classes or no-shows can not be refunded, exchanged or transferred.
