BEAST is our luxurious 3-ply twist fingering-weight blend of superwash merino, yak and silk.

Yak fiber is argued to be warmer than wool. It is durable, lightweight and a naturally insulating breathable fiber. It compares to cashmere in softness and is often marketed as a luxury fiber. Yak yarn is completely odorless, does not shed and is non-allergenic. It is a good choice for those who are allergic to other types of wool. The softness of the fiber gives it a lovely drape and the darker natural colors give the hand-dyed colors an added depth and richness.

Merino wool is known for its softness, shine and breathability. It ranges in different types, measured by microns which are used to determine the diameter of the wool fiber. The smaller the number, the finer the fiber. Merino is a durable and naturally insulating fiber. This merino is superwash which keeps the fibers from felting and takes dye easily creating saturated, vibrant colors.

The addition of nylon gives the superwash merino more elasticity and durability, making it a great option for socks.

Care Instructions

Although this blend has superwash merino as its main fiber, we recommend that this base be hand washed. Lay flat to dry.

All hand dyed yarn is unique and no two skeins will be exactly alike. Please purchase enough yarn to complete your project. Alternating skeins is the best way to prevent possible pooling, flashing or a sudden shift of color. It's easy! Just work 1-2 row stripes from two balls of yarn (carrying the yarn up the side).

We try hard to capture the essence of each colorway, but please keep in mind that colors may vary from monitor to monitor.
