Everyday Lined Hat Kit by Denise Bayron of Bayron Handmade
This variant is currently sold out.
On the surface, this appears to be a very simple and straightforward beanie; but like most designs that Denise creates, there is more than meets the eye. In this pattern, you'll make a top-down hat using raglan increases (imparting skills needed to make a raglan sweater!). If you purchase the pattern (link below) , video tutorials will guide you through techniques including magic loop and an easy tubular bind-off.
The best and most interesting feature of this pattern is that it is lined! When you purchase the pattern (link below) you will receive instructions and pattern pieces to sew a lining into the beanie making this a sewing/knitting project! Several suggestions are given to the type of material to line the beanie with depending upon your lifestyle, climate and intended use. The Tencel Twill from Merchant & Mills would be a lovely silky option. We have put together a few kits to get you started here and this pattern is great for everyone so it would be a super nice gift to give!
What you'll get:
- 1 full skein of Elder yarn in the colorway Forsythia or Smoke
- Please note there is no printed pattern included in this kit, it will need to be purchased separately on Ravelry.
S (M, L)
To fit head circumferences of 19.5 (21, 23) in / 49.5 (53, 58) cm
All kits include 1 skein Ritual Dyes Elder, 2-ply worsted, 100% Rambouillet Wool (190 yds / 100 g)
All hand dyed yarn is unique and no two skeins will be exactly alike. Please purchase enough yarn to complete your project. Alternating skeins is the best way to prevent possible pooling, flashing or a sudden shift of color. It's easy! Just work 1-2 row stripes from two balls of yarn (carrying the yarn up the side).
We try hard to capture the essence of each colorway, but please keep in mind that colors may vary from monitor to monitor.
